Default A quick question for Excel users (or any one who understands it)

If I want to go through a set of data, such as:

5.5%, 5.2%, 4.1% 3.8%, 5.3%, 6.9%

and want to find a formula that will give me the frequency of the peices of data that are 4%<X<6% how do i do it?

I think it's the COUNTIF function you want.

Used it only rarely myself, but I feel sure that's the one you need.

You can do a few different things. Do you just want the number of cells that meet that criteria? If so, DD is right, use COUNTIF. You can also do something based on the value of the cells by using an IF function. Finally, if you want something visual, you can create custom formatting that will change the color of the cells based on the value (so all things < 4% are red, < 6% yellow, whatever).

Syntax for these can be found in the help section, or post a more specific scenario, and I can help.
