Can we read more into this?

I was wondering if anyone has thought about this. Why would someone intentionally bet an amount that makes the electronic chips on the table look like a HUGE stack (e.g. betting like 2999.99). Does anyone feel there can ever be something behind this or is it usually just people screwing around?
