Default People picking on the fish. A good way to tell them to shut up?

I was at a table online where a big fish was spewing buy-in after buy-in. He finally sucks out and wins a pot. Of course, the guy who lost the pot starts saying vicious things about the way the fish is playing. i want him to shut up because I want the fish around.

What do you say to people to get them to shut up and stop picking on the fish? Anyone have an effective methods?

Sometimes "Don't tap the tank" works.

I agree. relatively cryptic. But what if you don't want the fish to know he is a fish?

Mediocre players get angry at live ones online often. You have to defend the fish, they provide your income.

Cryptical messages don't always work. The trash talker may not capable to understand what you are trying to tell him and if he does he is probably not the type of person who is in the mood righ there to take someone else's advice. The bad players at the table aren't necessarily dumb people. A fish can understand your cryptical message better than the trash talker. The fish will be insulted and leave the game or he will start to play a different, tough to beat form of poker.

What I recommend to do is to humiliate the trash talker. He is there scaring away your prey, so you rather want him to leave the table. First you should be nice and tell him that everyone is entitled to play their cards as they please. But he is most likely not going to listen and if he keeps trash talking, never insult him personally. Comment on all his moves. Wether he folds, checks or raises, explain why he did it wrong. Use some sarcasm, try to make him angry, not in a childish way. Ignore all his comeback trashtalking, but keep bullying him on the chat. You don't want to play your hands any differently, but the trashtalker is sure going to leave the table angry or lose big chunks of his stack. Don't be greedy trying to winning all his chips yourself, with the right cards to come you will sure get your share of his money.

... and remember, I didn't tell you anything.

Insult him, but in a non obvious way. I mean you shouldn't start telling him something like to f.u.c.k his mother or anything. He does have to feel insulted, but you don't want to make it look like you are some kid using bad language.
