Re: PLO8 $8.80 MTT - 2234 hits set on flop, faces action
This is one of the few low sets I actually like. This is early in the 8.80 donkament, and the range of hands here looks favorable for you. From worst to best
A3KK or A488(ouch) AA3x or AA4x with a flush draw AA3x or AA4x AAxx with a flush draw Anything else Without doing a specific probability analysis, think that with this range of hands, putting your chips in the middle heads-up is probably break even or better. It's the other players who are likely to put it in with their weak flush draws and weak low draws mixed with inside draws that are going to crush you here, and even a boat won't be enough. Still, if you survive, you'll have a decent chip stack. |

Re: PLO8 $8.80 MTT - 2234 hits set on flop, faces action
I wouldn't expect a sensible player to raise KKxx from the BB (except maybe A2KK/A3KK). I would expect AAwx to be a big part of his range here. However, if he's any good he's not going to bet pot with four players to act unless he has something like AA3x or AAwx suited in diamonds. Or A3KK of course...
Too bad stacks aren't a little deeper so you could just flat call the raise and then maybe jam the turn. As is though I think getting it all in on the flop is fine. No sense letting someone else draw to the flush for cheap (though I actually think BB has the NFD here much of the time anyway). |

Re: PLO8 $8.80 MTT - 2234 hits set on flop, faces action
I think this is spewy to call a raise with this hand this early in a tourney..You need a VERY specific flop for this hand to be good...For this hand you got that flop, but there are going to be many, many, many other flops that this hand turns to dog$#!T in a hurry...
While I agree with BBart that most likely his range SHOULD include AA hands, in these low limit PLO8 tourneys it really doesn't have to...I've seen people raise with all sorts of crazy $#!T from OOP... |
