Default Looking to take a big shot

Hi guys,

I play mostly 1/2 and 2/4 NL cash games online, but also some $50-$100 range SNGs and MTTs. This summer I will be taking a trip to Vegas and I want to take a shot at the 10/20 NL game at the Bellagio (I hear it's pretty live).

So here's my question. I have 3K I want to turn into 10K by July, the time of the trip. The problem is that I will be soon be working full time and will not have much time to play. I can probably put in about 5hrs/week of legitimate play on either cash games, SNGs, or MTTs. That's about 17weeks * 5 hrs = about 85hrs of play. I don't mind taking big risks with the 3k but I don't want to do anything blatantly stupid.

Whats my best bet at turning this 3k into 10k in the given time frame?

Big aside: I DO NOT WANT TO MULTITABLE

PS - I consistently grind out 4PTBB/100 at the games I'm currently playing, both 6max and FR

a consistent 82 bucks an hour without multitabling?
ummm...
playing only NL ring, you'd have to pull +7ptbb/100 at NL1000. (~60hands/hr) consistently. probably not gonna happen, and thats very risky for the bankroll.

I think your best bet is to play your regular ring games, grind out as much as you can, and use the profits to buyin to good-sized $50/$100/$200 MTT's with big payouts to the winners. Hopefully, you'll get lucky.

Im not a pro but I have found anytime I put time limitations on my self my game drops off. If things wouldnt happen right away I would start to get desperate and push hands that shouldnt be pushed. If things would happen quickly for me I would start to get a little too cocky and try to out play everyone, which usualy backfires unless youre a top tier player and you really can outplay anyone. I would stick to what youre doing well and just give your self more time to accomplish these goals.

I willing to take big risks with this 3k, I don't mind losing it at all if there's some realistic chance I could turn it into 10k by the time of the trip. What I want is a game with +EV despite being over the typical bankroll requirements. I suppose I should just play 5/10 full ring when the games are really good and hope I run well? Or is that just pissing away 3k?
