77 in CO gets 3-bet, standard call down?
slightly remedial, but this one bugged me
Terrible limps UTG, I raise 77 in co, not-great, but not terrible TAG 3-bets OTB, folded to me, I call. Flop is K94ds Check, Call Turn is off suit K I'm calling and calling any non-A river, right? |

Re: 77 in CO gets 3-bet, standard call down?
you can fold the river imo
you're isolating someone so villain knows that you're not on total cheese, meaning his range is pretty strong, and a weak TAG isn't going to turn ace high into a bluff on the river |

ds is double suited?
so utg folded pf? in what way is tag "not-great"? could be value in a c/r turn, c/c river. your line works too, depends on the guy. |

how does that make a difference? [/ QUOTE ] Makes it more likely that he was semi-bluffing, or think I was drawing, and take a last stab at a valuebluff (getting value from Axs perhaps, maybe folding out a hand like...77) I considered C/R/(F) turn C/C river, but I hate raise/fold lines... |

Re: 77 in CO gets 3-bet, standard call down?
it is a calldown if no ace comes
effective odds to calldown from flop are 13.5 to 5, or about 2.5 to 1. your odds arent actually that bad since you are able to fold a turn/river ace. using some quick work with pokerstove, it only becomes a fold on the flop if you can accurately narrow villain's range down to something ridiculous like 88+,AQs+,AQo+ |

Re: 77 in CO gets 3-bet, standard call down?
his 3bet range doesn't have any hands that will be semibluffing here that don't have sd value, unless he was tilting preflop with JQs/TJs or somesuch.
I really really don't think that a weak TAG will be valuebluffing/bluffing with ace high here because in these games almost noone will fold any better hands. if you don't think this is the case then go ahead and c/c |

[/ QUOTE ] That's what always happens to me when I try to raise these type of boards. Getting 3-bet and then having to fold a now bloated pot sucks for sure. I see nothing wrong with your line and I would probably bet the river with AQ high if I was the TAG. |
