I'm not sure I understand the Push angle here. What is someone with these types of stats 3 betting me with that i'm ahead of? I gotta think that the worst i'm gonna see here is 99. Is this unreasonable given the level? Can someone explain why this is a push instead of a fold?

Ako is a good enough hand vs. his likely range that its worth putting in 25bbish with. Simple as that.

Yes, very easily in fact. From OP:

SB ($2.55)

There's $2.20 in the pot and villain only has $1.10 behind. He may fold (dunno, maybe he's an idiot), but assuming he calls you're putting in $2.05 to win $3.30. You're getting like 1.7:1 on your money. Against any pair but aces and kings you're a slight dog and have the odds to get it in. And there's the possibility the he doesn't have a pair in which case you crush him and are way ahead (especially against Ax).

100BB or 200BB deep I can see arguments about what to do preflop. This short, given the money already in the pot, anything but getting it in preflop is a mistake (unless you are 100% he's got aces, which you're not).

If he turned his card up and they were QQ this is a shove.
