Re: AK
Any suggestions on what opponents HD is?
I just tried to take some of the hands he could play, discarded some of them assuming a certain percent was folded pre-flop and so forth. I don't really know what process you should use to define a hand range. Maybe you should start by thinking about how many percent I for example in this example get a call on my last raise pre-flop and so on...... My on ideas on this hand is that my bet is terrible. I have no outs and reversed implied odds. Only against AK0/AQo and pairs with no spade am I "safe" and those hands will to try to get a cheap showdown. |

Re: AK
I still think it's a HORRIBLE play!
Not the call maybe but definately to bet that flop. What is speaking against a check? It just seems stupid to put in 2xthe pot without a spade here. Some probable hands: QQ/JJ/TT - he will try to get a free showdown or get out, unless he has a spade, and then I am 57% favorite only. KsQs - dead AK - 50/50 or 32% The good thing with the bet is that I won't get bluffed on the turn if a spade hits and I won't give a free card to something like 6h6s. Maybe the best thing is to half pot it and fold to a shove? Basically "bluffing" pairs with a spade in it <and such hands> out of their "part" of the pot equity wise. The sad thing is when I fold to an AQ non spade though. |

Re: AK
Hmm, I made a mistake there. It is true that he has a lot of outs but I will be able to bet at the turn. So my sugggestion is:
Check flop. Bet pot on turn if no spade. Check behind on the river. Call turn bet with no spade. Call river bet with no spade. Makes sense? Ps. And in the actual hand. I guess I HAVE to call. |
