Considerations beginning my attempts at LHE.
My current BR is 500~ dollars. I'm a MTT player - it's what I'm good at, etc. but I'd like to pick up particularly a cash game to play between MTTs.
But my question is where to start. Problems I run into is: -Trying to care about lowest stakes. -I definitely don't want to play 25/50lhe even though I believe I'm rolled for it, because I'm definitely not experienced enough in LHE to show a significant BB/hour. Balancing these two is harsh I guess. Question generally is if I should partition part of my bankroll and play only off of that for LHE and let it grow naturally with my play so that I move up in stakes and still feel somewhat competitive about it? Any advice is definitely helpful. Thank you in advance. |

Re: Considerations beginning my attempts at LHE.
How big are the buy-ins in your MTTs? You're rolled for about $5, given a 100 buy-in rule of thumb. You could lose that in a single hand of $.5/$1 LHE; You could easily lose (or win) $25+ in a sit.

Re: Considerations beginning my attempts at LHE.
I hope you forgot a decimal point in 25/50 b/c that's only 10BB and definitely not enough. I think general limit bankroll requirements are 500BBs so I would probably suggest splitting your BR and starting @ 0.25/0.50 so you can keep playing the $2 tourneys (congrats btw, I read MTTc too ).

Yeah understood decimal I hoped :P. Sorry.
You think a flat split is good? I was going to do closer to 25% or 10% edit: thank you btw for the grats. |

No prob, I'm a spelling/technical nit.
If you want to keep a sizable chunk for MTTs, start with $60-80 at .10/.20 and work your way up from there. MJBuddy's Robusto Plan 1. Hang out in micro 2. Post and reply to hands 3. ??? 4. Profit!! Although running up $500 at $25/50 would be balla! |

Re: Considerations beginning my attempts at LHE.
Oh, if you follow MTTs forum at all, you can not only expect me to follow the forum, but also to post and not be an idiot. I wouldn't be branching out if I didn't trust my game in my game of choice yet. My big cash and subsequent deep runs over the last month have cemented that :P.

No worries, I know you'll be good.
Otherwise, I'll go make Jurollo take you back. |

Re: Considerations beginning my attempts at LHE.
Oh...and Longhand or Shorthand?
I have a little experience SH NLHE...but that's an entirely different animal really. I eventually want to move into LHE MTTs as well and none of them are 6-max yet, I don't believe. |

Re: Considerations beginning my attempts at LHE.
I would recommend starting with full ring because there's less variance than shorthanded and if it's too slow or whatever for you, give 6max a try. I greatly prefer full ring to SH, but that's just me.
