Hand #2 from last night\'s live 2/5 NL game
This is a very soft 2/5 NL game.
I was up more than $1100 after 3 hours and was getting ready to cash out. It was folded to me in the cutoff and I had QhQd. I made my standard raise to $20 and the BB reraised to $120. BB is the only other decent player at the table. He likes to see a lot of flops and bets aggressively, but I have not really seen him make a big pre-flop reraise without a really good hand. I call the $100 and the flop is 983 rainbow. He immediately bets $250. I ask him how much he has left and he has another $150 or so. He looks at my stack and says "Jesus, when did that happen?" (I had doubled up while he was taking a break.) So I have $120 in the pot and a $250 bet to me, with $150 more BB has behind. BB looks very confident and not worried. He tells me he has AA. I say I don't believe him. He says, well then I have KK. So if I win the pot it's a huge night, probably my best ever. If I fold, I'm still up $1000 and feel sweet. If I call and lose, I'm only up $600 and feel pissed off. So I mucked my QQ face up. I think this is the first time I've folded QQ on a board like that before. BB says I made a good laydown. Did I? |

If you were visibly racking up, go ahead and shove. (calling leaves virtually nothing behind) I'd probably shove anyway. Who bets full pot on a dry flop in a preflop 3-bet hand?
