Default me and my \"new\" computer.

So I bought a "new" computer. For those of you a little slow, "new" translates to "new to me," or "used."

But hey, if we are all 10-tabling, no one is slow, I assume.

As the old saying goes, "life is expectation, everything in between is fluctuation...." I can't go into that because it would then become a bbv/psych post. So I bought a "new" computer, and I have to admit that I have never been very computer literate. Don't get me wrong, I have personally crashed four computers, and I know how to search the hard-drive for viruses, install a new operating system, run BIOS, and, check all the physical problems, diagnose, updates, etc. I can even build a desktop.

But ask me to turn a computer on and I will look at the thing for at least five minutes. I still can't figure out how to turn on my friends Apple G5.

So, I just bought this "new" computer last week. I took my not-as-rich-as-I-used-to-be self and scored a big win at the casino a few weeks back. But not so large that I was able to buy a new computer. Well, I could have pressed my luck, but risk-aversion got the better of me. So I dumped my money on-line and bought this computer that I am typing on now.

In case you are interested it took me close to twenty minutes to turn on this one.

So, I need a bit of help. I have this cool avatar that I would like to post on this site:

Anyone care to give me some directions.

I cropped it down to 75x75, and for a preview:::

Okay, forget it, I don't know how to move it over here.

Okay, so I am at image shack, and I have used all of the links. I get a message that says inapropriate picture type. So one of the four links doesn't give the message, but there is not avatar registering.

davet, did you figure out your avatar problem yet? You can send me your picture and I can see if I can get it to host on imageshack.

Okay, so I figured out the problem. I didn't notice at first that image shack automatically resizes the pics to something larger.

The avatar is an aerialist performing on tissue, her name is Claire Ashmore. I took the liberty of blue-tinting it, and having fun with flair. I am not a photoshop genius, btw.

EDIT: Thanks for the help, lest I forget

I like your avatar. I would never have guessed that it was an aerialist performing on tissue paper. Could you post a larger pic of her maybe so we can see what you are talking about?
