Default Bet or take a free card on turn

The SB was a loose player. I was not sure if I should bet or take a free card on turn. Also is my raise on flop okay as opposed to just calling?

HOLD'EM LIMIT ($0.10/$0.20) - 10 handed

Preflop10 players) Hero is BB with A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]K [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].

1 fold, UTG+1 calls, 4 folds, CO calls, 1 fold, SB calls, Hero raises, UTG+1 calls, CO calls, SB calls.

Flop(8SB) 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img](4 players):

question:

what range of hands do you think SB donk with

by raising, what do you think you'll knock out that will be beneficial to your holdings

raising can be good on the flop (if you have a reason)

raising this flop against habitual donkers can be bad also. ie 2 tone flop; most donks <3 to stop n go these.

Also like what PB asked, what do u think SB is donking this flop with?

I would definitely take the free card on the turn.

My first reaction was - dang right, raise that flop! My second reaction was - no, I don't think we wanna raise this flop.

If ppl behind you don't have Jack (both literally, and figuratively), they are folding anyway. Jacks are not folding, and would probably raise the SB bet and let you know what's up. Flush draws are not folding to 2 bets. Straights are very unlikely.

So, I am not worried people behind, I am more concerned about the donker. Can he bet out bottom pair? Can he bet out draws in these situations? Or is he habitual loose bluffer, in which case the raise would be in order? Not enough info ...

If I don't have info, I assume he has me beat. I'd peel off on that flop. Turn is not bad - you picked up a gutshot. Again, barring more definite reads, I check the turn and hope to hit on the river.

Again, semi-bluff bet on the turn might be a good option if you know your villain. Queen is a scare card. But if he calls down with threys, don't do it.

Crap, all my post in a nutshell is - "IT DEPENDS"

[/ QUOTE ] the donk/call check turn line seems to me by players like this is very often exactly a pair that is now scared taht you have him beat with at least TPTK. okay so it could be a straight or flushdraw here I suppose

I thought SB hit at least one pair or bet out for flash draws.

By raising, I wanted to know how strong his hands was. I was hoping I can eliminate players behind me and play heads-up with SB and lead the turn.

giving him 1 extra bet when he's likely to be ahead doesn't appeal (loose so i dunno what he's connected with but ). i check with 4 outs and hope river hits. if Th hits then i poop.
