Default New to 6-Person, One Round Per Blinds Tourneys

I've never really got into Sit N Gos but I am familiar with Harrington's Tourney books.

My friend plays these tournies that have only 6 people, you get $1000.00 in chips, and pay 1 and 2. The blinds start at 7/15, go to 15/30, 25/50 etc every 6 hands!

I was going to give him some advice on Inflection points and M's etc. but this is a tough one so I thought I would post here and ask the experts.

I understand that in the first 6 hands your M is 45, then for the next 6 your M is 22, then 13, then 7, then 3....so your M is ZOOMING down fast. How in the world you handle these. Sure an M of 22 puts you in the green zone with plenty of play but in 3 hands youre gonna be in the orange, then yellow, then red......

Any suggestions, is this a common type of tourney?
