Re: Flopped Set on Draw Heavy Board
I would lead with my standard c-bet here looking to 3-bet people. I would have checked raised the flop here for 3. With the stack sizes on the turn I think 4 is fine. As played you can't fold here.

Re: Flopped Set on Draw Heavy Board
Lead flop, 3bet if raised...if just called then probably lead turn.
You're gonna get called or raised on the flop if he has an A or a flush draw and it'll be easier to get a lot of money in that way. |

Re: Flopped Set on Draw Heavy Board
I open at $1.20 on that type of flop, simply because if the turn is good for me the pot is as big as I could make it and I can maximize my value. Also your set is disguised as an ace scared of the draws with the full sized flop bet.

Re: Flopped Set on Draw Heavy Board
I'm responding blind.
Yes, I think you should lead the flop. Once you don't, though, I think you should checkraise that bet and that call. Checkraising to about $5 does seem like a good amount. I wouldn't fold the turn. But that turn card truly does suck, and I'm not at all happy when CO pushes. Donks love JT (it's the most overrated hand in holdem). |

Re: Flopped Set on Draw Heavy Board
So, your reason for posting this hand is to get your ass kicked for not getting way more money in on the flop...?
Because that's the only reason I can see. WRT calling on the turn, this is the exact kind of action you were hoping for with your slowplay, right? |
