Call Down or Raise Fold
The villain was playing almost every hand, c/r bluffing into large pots with multiple opponents, raising marginal hands on dangerous boards etc… Truly awful player and total lag-tard. A losing player in this session, but would catch some boards and drag a few pots. Betting is capped at 4 unless HU before cap on River.
Preflop Hero: A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 9 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 1 fold, Villian Limps, 2 folds, Hero raises, folded to BB who calls. Flop (6 sb): T [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] T [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 5 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] BB check, Villian bet, Hero calls, BB folds. Turn (4 bb) 8 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Villian bets, Hero raises, Villian 3-bets, Hero calls River (10 bb) 2 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Villian bets, Hero raises, Villian 3-bets, Hero calls. I didn’t get worried until he 3-bet the 4th heart on the river, but he ended up showing down T [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 3 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] and MHIG. My question is: against a reasonable player, at what point in the hand to you call down or raise/fold? |

Re: Call Down or Raise Fold
I would cap the turn and if he's incredibly aggressive, I'm still raising a river bet.

Your turn/river play baffles me.

Re: Call Down or Raise Fold
Against this guy:
1) I'd raise the flop 2) Cap the turn 3) Raise the river, check his AF again to make sure and if its high enough on the river then cap. VS a reasonable player though -> I dont know what you mean by reasonable player, but against a lot of people who are aggressive you can raise-call the river. |

Re: Call Down or Raise Fold
why did you call the turn and raise the river?? makes no sense! on the river 8 cards match the board 8 cards bring a fourth heart and there goes your action.
