Default My WTF hand of the day last night, what would you do?

Ok, I'm playing 4/8 Limit at a local casino. Soft game as usual last night... mixture of loose passive players and tight passive players.

Hero is BTN. 3 limpers, hero looks down at 8 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 9 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] and calls. My image is TAG as usual, but half of the players at the table can't even spell poker.

SB completes, BB checks.

Flop comes out 2 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 2 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 8 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. Action gets checked around to me and I toss out 4 whities.

SB calls (I am definitely not worried about him, he is not tricky at all and would have bet if he had trips, a flush draw, or an 8. He would have definitely raised preflop if he had a PP.) Folds around to a lady in MP who also calls (She's not tricky either, not worried about her). The rest of the table folds.

Turn is a 4 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. UTG checks, MP checks, Hero valiantly tosses out 8 white chips.

SB calls (Hero can't help but smirk a little), MP calls.

River is a 5 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].

Board: 2 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 2 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 8 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 4 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 5 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

SB bets, MP raises, Hero ?

What would you do here? Keep in mind that this is SB's first time playing and he could be holding any two. I'm 95% sure I have SB beat. MP is decent, but nothing we can really worry about.

I stared at the board for like 20 seconds, took a look at SB who was counting out 8 more chips to call MP's raise, and was just feeling on the fence with this hand.

I know I shouldn't be results oriented, but they are whited out below:

Hero Folds.

SB calls, shows 45o.

MP shows 68o and scoops the pot (Hero vomits).

I would have folded too, I wouldn't think the MP would be capable of raising 86os there... maybe she is better than you think and knew you had a scared 8 and SB was total moron and held nothing, and thought she could get your better 8 to fold w/ a raise, the way you described it though and the fact its a 4/8 game makes me think she would be incapable of any type of rational poker thought...

She wasn't thinking beyond: "LOL I got 2 pair."

We might can give her enough credit to say her thought process was: "LOL I got 2 pair and this guy who just bet is an idiot."

I think folding was the right play, but that was just one of those spots where I was confused and deep in thought.

Regardless of the results the fold was the right play, don't punish yourself.
