Default tp+fd hand v kovner

he is 20/16/3, can make moves and is way more of a "thinking" player than most players. we have tangled very hard in the past, but this is one of his first hands at this table. i decided to fold because it was utg v bb, but is that enough of a reason? as usual, comments on all streets appreciated.

I would bet the turn. You can probably get a pretty light call from a pair. Obviously if I'm checking behind the turn I'm calling most river bets, but the overbet is really strange, and seems unlikely to be a bluff.

Looks okay to me, I could see arguing for the river call though.

When I first started learning NL ppl told me to fold this preflop. Was that advice of the "this is for your own good so you don't pwn yourself while u learn" nature?

With a history like it sounds like you guys have, I'm raise/getting it in on the flop a ton, and feeling good about it.

Given the flop call, turn is pretty standard.

Not sure what to make of his river overbet, but your hand looks like what it is, or the A. If he had bet smaller, obviously I'd snap call. As it is, i really think it's for value, since he expects you to call with the former, and rarely bluff the latter.

looks good to me on all streets, unless he's doing a lot of donking into the raiser, in which case i might raise-stackoff like jim suggested.
