Overpair played passively on low board, facing AI on river 300NL
No solid reads except villain looks loose and seems to bluff a lot. First, I know minraising is bad but I did it because it was a shortstack who bet and I planned to shove most likely any turn. I'm not too scared of the villain having 57 on the flop since I could see him re-raising me.
Maybe I should check/raise all in on the turn or call and lead the river with a blocking/value bet? 6-max 300NL MP ($339.25) Hero ($430.50) BTN ($381.50) BB ($634.10) SB ($100.00) UTG ($336.11) Hero [K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img],K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]] 2 folds, Hero raises to $11, BTN calls $11, 1 folds, SB calls $8 DEALING FLOP [6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img],4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img],3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]] (pot $32) SB bets $20.00, Hero raises to $40.00, BTN calls $40.00, SB folds DEALING TURN [8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]] (pot $132) Hero checks, BTN bets $88, Hero calls $88.00 DEALING RIVER [9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]] (pot $308) Hero checks, BTN bets $222.00, Hero ??? (I had to convert this by hand, if anyone knows a converter that will take a PokerTracker hand history please let me know. Thanks.) |

as played fold river.
maybe b/f-ing turn half-pottish is better. he might have a draw, smaller overpair here. edit: what site you play on? |

I probably should have bet something on the turn, since it looks incredibly weak checking and might prevent him from bluffing. Otherwise maybe just fold the turn if I don't feel like playing.

Bodog, but building up on FullTilt and plan to switch since it takes 1 month+ to get checks from Bodog.

Re: Overpair played passively on low board, facing AI on river 300NL
I'd keep the lead on the turn, probably like 2/3 pot. I'd fold to a raise. If I'm checking the turn, it's to fold, and I don't want to fold.

I don't like the minraise on the flop at all. If you raise more and BTN still cold-calls you have a better idea of where you stand. As played, it depends on his bluffing frequency but I generally think you should fold.
And I'm in agreement with TKO that b/f turn is better since all the draws are still out there and none of them came in on the turn. |

Re: Overpair played passively on low board, facing AI on river 300NL
I know, I didn't like it either but when the shortstack donkbet the flop I just decided to minraise. I didn't expect the BTN to call. I wasn't even paying attention to the flush draw and on the turn I was more thinking straight/2pair and just made a mistake.
So raise flop to $70-ish and b/f turn. Thanks. |

Call the river.
When you play this passively, you have to call the river. What range do you put the villain on? My first thought he played this like a flush draw. A2c or A5c seem much more likely than 57. |
