Default 25/50 facing tough river raise

Villain is Dit_Ma_May, probably one of biggest winners at 25/50 who plays 25/20ish style. he views me as TAG, possibly slightly money scared since I only play 25/50 when the table is soft and he knows this. However we haven't been exactly tangling much with each other, though I felt that he was running over me a bit with the blind steals.

Party Poker - No Limit Hold'em Cash Game - $25/$50 Blinds - 3 Players - (LegoPoker HH Converter)

SB: $4,120.00
Hero (BB): $4,172.00
BTN: $8,785.50

Preflop: Hero is dealt K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (3 Players)
<font color="red">BTN raises to $175.00</font>, SB folds, Hero calls $125.00

Flop: ($375) 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 Players)
Hero checks, <font color="red">BTN bets $300.00</font>, Hero calls $300.00

Turn: ($975) 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 Players)
Hero checks, BTN checks

River: ($975) 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 Players)
<font color="red">Hero bets $611.00</font>, <font color="red">BTN raises to $2,111.00</font>, Hero ...($1500 more)

How is my river bet? at the time when I was making decisions 2 thoughts went through my head

a) Regs rarely make bluffs that don't make sense
b) but he views me as a money scared TAG and puts me on Kx hand/ and is attempting a move.

of the two, A) seems way more likely so this should be a easy fold- weird rivered straight or slowplayed monster. what do you think?

do you think he check 68 behind on the turn because he's willing to give you credit for TP on dry board due to you being nitty in his eyes?

- otherwise 36 makes sense, so does 44. If you really feel that he's trying to exploit you though you probably have to call here - if you think he has enough information for that take to seem ideal.

Fold. Bet more on the river too, to avoid situations like this

there is no reason for villain to think this is a blocker.
