Question on HIV

One of my good friends just got diagnosed. We have, in the past, shared soda out of the same can, eaten off the same dish, etc. I checked out some sites on how hiv can be spread, and thought most of them say blood, semen or breastmilk, some just say bodily fluids. Does anyone have info on whether this can be passed through saliva?

I would appreciate the leveling be kept at a minimum, not only am I genuinely concerned about this, I just found out one of my best friends has HIV. Thanks in advance to any who offer helpful advice.
