Jeff Madsen Eats Sushi on The Real World / WSOP Trishelle Effect
Anyone notice him last night? He was in two shots in the background during a party, eating sushi.
Has Trishelle effected his game? Madsen 2006 WSOP: 1st, 1st, 3rd, 3rd. $1.5 million won Madsen 2007 WSOP: 25th, 58th. $8,185 "won" (after numerous buy-ins?)

Yeah, cause the first year was all because he was the best player in the wsop.
Seriously, do you think anything he does during the wsop will have nearly the same effect on how well he does in the tournaments as how well he runs? He ran hotter than god last year.

Yeah, he obviously ran really well last year. I think another big factor was that not many people knew how he played last year, and now they all do.
But his results this year are SO different. Trishelle factor speculation, anyone?

this year madsen went deep into wpt bay 101, and final tabled a bellagio event. also keep in mind the final tables for wsops last year were omaha 8, nlhe, and stud 8.

The best player in the world is a substantial underdog to win a bracelet in any given year, and it's unlikely Madsen is close to the best. Every year there will be a few players who run really hot in the series. With the huge number of players ranging from bad to decent playing, it isn't even unlikely that the new hot player sucks. I'm not saying Madsen is bad, and I have nothing against the guy. I'm just saying that his results are entirely standard, even if he's a really good poker player.
