Getting Started in NL Cash Games
Hi all,
I have been posting on here for a few weeks or so as I have just started playing cash recently after playing primarily sngs. I want to get good at cash and I am willing to put the time in. I recently had to cash out on Stars so I only have about $250 in my account. I have therefore been playing 6-9 tables of $10 NL for the past week or so. It is a lot different than sngs! Anyways, I recently purchased Poker Tracker as I think that is a necessity. However, I have been reading a ton of posts and such that talk about PAHUD (what is that) and some other programs people use to track others play. And also, what does it mean when people post numbers about another player? Such as 10/2, 19/6? And more importantly, how do I get this program as I think it sounds good. I am hoping to climb up the ladder of cash so I think using these programs and having this info is essential at the lower levels. Thanks for reading -Knightsridge |

Re: Getting Started in NL Cash Games
10/2 means they have a VPIP of 10% and PR of 2%
VPIP means they voluntarily put money in the pot PR is their Preflop Raise % So a 10/2 is a very tight player that only raises premium hands and probably limps AA/KK's in early position often. |

Re: Getting Started in NL Cash Games
you should download the guide to poker tracker - it will help you immensely. Not only will it give you an idea of how to use the program to find leaks in your game, it will also tell you how to automatically categorise players based upon their stats and then export this information into your player notes on pokerstars.
That feature alone has won, and saved, me a lot of money recently. Firstly, I use it to select a table where i have such notes on a couple of weak players and secondly, it helps me avoid TAG solid players |
