Default My Shortstack Experiment at Stars: 1/2 38K Hands

I just thought I'd post my shortstack experiment I did at Stars over the last 7 weeks. I prefer not to give my userid at stars as i'm not sure if i'll continue it (probably not).

I'm sure there will be a lot of "Die ShortStack Die" which is fine, but I wanted to share my stats/thoughts.

I bought it for the minimum at the 1/2 ($40) and would reload if i dropped below $32. If i hit $75, I'd leave the table.

I play what I would call a smart SS strategy (I know we all think we play smart). I didn't call any raises preflop (except sometimes a 3bet with AA) and I didn't limp preflop. I pushed premium
hands(AK-QQ) vs preflop raisers.

I stole a lot of blinds and CB'd those that made it to the flop.

If someone raised pre, i would fold everything except AA,KK,QQ and AK (50%).

I feel like i caught a lot of bad breaks. I can't count how many times my KK lost to an Ace rag after I pushed preflop and how many 6 outers I lost to. My AK never seemed to beat the smaller pockets,
but my QQs always seemed to lose to AK. However, after playing 38K hands, variance should've played it couse and i should've given out as many beats as I took.

I 12 tabled stars and earned 50K FPPs.

I don't know what happened after 11K hands. My strategy didn't change, so I must assume that either variance played its course or villains started to pick up on me.

Looking back, my VPIP is a little high, but with stars games so tight, its difficult to not steal the blinds. My next experiment might be to get it down to 10%.

Thanks for doing this so none of us have to.

If you want to recreate this strategy by being a 4+PTBB winner at 600NL and then short-stacking the 1000NL game, let us know. I'd be interested to hear the results.
