Are you set on spending the money? Have you tried to speed up your laptop? What are the specs on your laptop?

What is your budget and your patience index? Chances are you can walk into an office supply store or local big box electronics store and walk out with enough machine to make you happy.

The numbers you want are:
2GB of ram
128mb or better on the video card

If you want to multitable in the future you can look for a suped up gaming machine that has two video plugs on the back. I know Best Buy has them these days.

All my Window's machines have been HP (except my first one which was a Magnavox SX something or other, 80mg hardrive!) and I haven't had any problems with them. You will probably pay less for a computer on-line but it's never been less enough for me to be able to wait for the damn thing or deal with the hassel of delivery.

That computer looks good, but it will bog down too if you are running crapware.

I'm really curious about the specs on these computers that are so bogged down. I datamine 16 tables on Full Tilt with a PgSQL database of 1M hands on a 1.4ghz Athlon with 1gb RAM and a 5400rpm hard drive. It doesn't lag.

Would you post your specs please PartyScout?
