Default Restaurants in Vegas

Anyone have any good food recommendations besides buffets at the casinos in Vegas? Preferably Italian/Mexican/Steak...

Thanks!

Steaks? N9NE at Palms. It's my favorite steakhouse in Vegas at the moment.

Italian in the MGM - Fiamma Trattoria - pasta's + rich desserts- wear black (but not black tie) go there and you'll understand.

MGM also has a Mexican restaurant but I do not recall the name. Features at least one authetic mole presentation and the coffee is served with a side of shaved chocolate - good food and style points.

The Two Hot Tamale gals have a Border Grill that does their version of Mex. food. I think that one is in Mandalay Bay. The tequila sampler was fun.

Surprisingly, Bobbly Flay's place in Caesar's Mesa Grille has a huge assortment of tequilas to mix and match in many versions of margaritas. The bar rocks for food and drink.

IMO, these days in Vegas the buffets let you pig out. The better food is in the restaurants.

My GF was reading of some restaurant at the Hard Rock where they blend Japanese and Peruvian ideas together.
It was called Nabu or something like that.
Anyone been to this one?

What about the restaurant at the Paris where supposedly the view of the Bellagio Fountains is really good?

I didn't do any of the nicer restaurants on my last trip to LV but this one is with the GF so would be interested in suggestions.

Mon Ami Gabi is the one with tables outside on the Strip. I've eaten there several times and it is very good w/o being obnoxiously expensive. Not cheap, just not crazy $$$.

Thanks for the confirmation that Nobu is worthwhile.

I thought there was something partway up the eiffel-tower or something.

In 4 nights there I'm guessing we have time for at least 2 decently nice dinners and am looking definitely at Nobu and possibly at Mon Ami Gabi.
Maybe we'll try a steak place too. Or perhaps the Italian place that was mentioned.

Next Q is how far in advance should I make reservations for places like Nobu or Mon Ami?

Micro, the resturant in the Eiffel tower is named..... drum roll....

The Eiffel Tower Resturant.

I haven't eaten there, it is their higher priced resturant

In May Guy Savoir is opening in Caesars, and it may have a veiw of the fountains. It will be great - and really, really expensive.
