Brick & Mortar = Aluminum & Steel: In Flight Poker?
Can you imagine how cool it would be to play live poker on a transatlantic flight? You'd be there before you knew it. Or in Taj waitress terms: JFK to Heathrow in 5 drinks.
Of course lack of parachutes + BUSTO = -EV Obviously just a little speculation on the writer's part but a cool thought nonetheless. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/13920640/ "And, perhaps, one of the poshest. With early orders already placed by the likes of Singapore, Qantas, and Emirates airlines, don’t be surprised if you find yourself flying on a plane with a cocktail lounge, fitness center, or fully stocked duty-free shop. Fly one of the A380s ordered by Virgin Atlantic Airways and you may even be able to play poker or roulette in an onboard casino." |

You can already play poker on many Delta flights. I just assumed you could do it on other flights.

That's just a video game though, not for actual stakes. This sounds like a sit down game.
Oh never mind. |

Slight non-B&M hijack...
Has anyone tried this using the Boeing Connexions Service offered by some airlines for playing on any Internet sites? Lufthansa from the East Coast to Europe and KAL and others offer it to Asia? Is it fast and reliable enough to play? It is a satellite-based broadband connection offered in-flight. |

The guy in the next seat was complaining that it was $5 to play, but you couldn't win [censored] on my flight to Vegas (but then it could also mean that he sucks at poker). I was pwning the plane in the trivia game though... |

I was at my doctors office the other day and we were looking around for a deck of cards because the wait was so long. We would have been 5 handed. Too bad.

Re: Brick & Mortar = Aluminum & Steel: In Flight Poker?
This will never happen (casinos on the A380). This was a clever marketing ploy by Airbus to design some casino space layouts for the plane, but every aerospace analyst has said that the airlines will just use that space to cram more seats in. Maybe Virgin, but I doubt anyone else, will ever give the casino idea serious consideration.

Interpoker has that Extreme Poker thing they're running qualifiers to. You get to play with Phil Lack and Antonio Esfariandi in the air. If you bust, you jump out of the plane.
