Default 25NL - QQ vs possible nit + flopping trips with Q9

Hey first post,

CO looked like a nit was 7/5 but only had about 50 hands on him so it was not really representable.

Party Poker - No Limit Hold'em Cash Game - $0.10/$0.25 Blinds - 5 Players - (LegoPoker HH Converter)

SB: $20.60
BB: $28.90
UTG: $27.15
CO: $28.65
Hero (BTN): $26.90

Preflop: Hero is dealt Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (5 Players)
UTG folds, <font color="red">CO raises to $1.00</font>, <font color="red">Hero raises to $3.00</font>, 2 folds, CO calls $2.00

Flop: ($6.35) 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 Players)
CO checks, <font color="red">Hero bets $4.50</font>, CO calls $4.50

Turn: ($15.35) 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 Players)
<font color="red">CO bets $10.00</font>, Hero folds

Pot Size: $25.35

Good fold or not? Figured he could have had JJ with a heart or Akh. Don't think he would just flatcall preflop with AA or KK. Maybe AQhh but he was so tight he might have folded that.

---------

Second hand is in a limped pot against two very loose fishy opponents who a were limping from utg etc. They were around 45/10 and 60/5.

Party Poker - No Limit Hold'em Cash Game - $0.10/$0.25 Blinds - 6 Players - (LegoPoker HH Converter)

Hero (SB): $24.75
BB: $50.85
UTG: $2.10
MP: $14.75
CO: $28.15
BTN: $28.15

Preflop: Hero is dealt Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (6 Players)
UTG calls $0.25, MP calls $0.25, 2 folds, Hero calls $0.15, BB checks

Flop: ($1) A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (4 Players)
Hero checks, <font color="red">BB bets $1.00</font>, UTG folds, <font color="red">MP raises to $3.00</font>, Hero calls $3.00, BB folds

Turn: ($8) 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 Players)
<font color="red">Hero bets $5.00</font>, <font color="red">MP raises to $10.00</font>, <font color="red">Hero raises to $15.00</font>, MP calls all-in for $1.50
Uncalled bet of $3.50 returned to Hero

River: ($31) A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 Players - 1 All-In)

Pot Size: $31.00 ($1.55 Rake)

MP had A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (a full house, Aces full of Nines) and WON (+$14.70)
Hero had Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (a full house, Nines full of Aces) and LOST (-$14.75)

I flop trips and check to let them hang themselves(not sure this was right). However after bet and reraise should i pump it to 9$ here or would that be just a dead givaway of my hand? I dont want to scare an Ace here. Money goes in good but I am unlucky on river(not really relevant here i guess). Any thoughts? Thanks

First hand I'd bet the pot and try to get it in there if possible, but it looks like it wouldn't have been. Turn card sucks.

Second hand, don't call preflop.

1st hand is fine. 2nd hand...would u have posted if u lost? what else could you do?...except fold preflop which would have been the best play and lead the flop instead of getting tricky.

First hand you need to make a habit of 3-betting this more, to about $5. He has to call for $2 more. Otherwise, good.

Second, preflop can go either way, you don't always want to call with these hands in SB unraised... after that you can either 3-bet this flop or get it in on the turn like you did.

[/ QUOTE ]Only make it a habit if you don't like getting value out of the best hands. Seriously, $5? A little extreme don't you think? $3.50 is my standard reraise and I think that's pushing it.

[/ QUOTE ]Alright, $5 is pushing it. I do like $4 though. If you are re-raising preflop they should need to think about it for a second instead of instacalling which is what they do for $2 more.
