Am I slowplaying too much on the flop and turn? Should I just have re-raised on the river instead of shoving?

Definitely raise this flop because there are so many draws out. And yes, raise this turn.. I doubt he's folding a queen and it's easier to get your money in on the river. River push is good.

Failing to raise the flop is a mistake on a board this wet.

Turn is your gin card. I don't mind so much the slowplay on this street.

River is good.

Thanks, guys. As it turns out, villain flipped over a Qs Kc ftw. This bad beat could have been avoided if I played the flop and turn stronger. Let him into it, I suppose.

Could it have been avoided, you raise flop and he maybe calls, and then he turns top trips. Unless you put in a huge raise somewhere he was likely sticking around. The bit that hurt me was 1$ in ahead, 17.85$ in as a loser!! I'm not sure sure about just calling river, stats would be nice but you can see the A of hearts here pretty often.

The point is you never gave him the chance to fold, so we'll never know. Forget the result on this one, it was a freak. Just raise it up next time.

You couldn't have avoided getting stacked so don't sweat that part. The reason your plays were wrong is that by your actions you never gave him a chance to make a mistake.

Sure, even if you raised the flop, he probably would have called. And on the turn if you had bet more he wouldn't have folded and you still would have ended up getting stacked.

But that is only this one specific hand. Most of the time, you raise the flop, he calls (incorrectly if he knew what you had). Maybe the turn is another queen and you guys get all in on the turn. But most of the time, the king won't come on the river and you will win.

For this one specific hand there is nothing you could have done, but in the future, you need to give your opponents the possibility of making a mistake because MOST of the time they won't draw out on you.
