Default dual internet connection

I just got a second internet connection installed (both connections are lan). What kind of hardware do I need to have in order to switch between them automatically if I get disconnected?

Thanks

Please be more specific. What you said doesn't make much sense. Do you have a cable connection and DSL connection, two cable connections, dial-up, T-1, T-3, ISDN?
