Default No - limit hold\'em position

I am not a new player, but recently I have been trying to wise up to position. I am looking for a good book that goes into great detail about position in No-Limit Texas Hold'em, any suggestions?

I am newbie as well,, but the best book I have read that has really shown me how to use position is ,, taaa dahh.

the poker tourment formula by arnold snyder.
it really helped me to understand position better then any other book I have.

Hi Arnold.

LEECH, do you play NL cash games or tournaments?

Either way, Harrington on Hold'em vol I is a good place to start until Sonny & Matt's new book come out next month.

Plus there's always Theory of Poker and No Limit hold'em: Theory & Practice. Those are must reads regardless of what kind of NL hold'em you play.

Really any NL book worth a 2nd glance has some discussion on position. But most say the same basic things. Later position is better because you're last to act each round and have more information when it is your turn to act, etc.

The examples in HOH are good because position is almost always included in the discussion and how it might impact your decision. The discussion of relative vs absolute position in one of the 2+2 books (NLT&P?) was helpful in considering that the impact of position isn't always your position relative to the blinds.

But I made a quantum leap forward in my understanding the value of position when I read the Poker Tournament Formula. I think the reason is probably because the discussion of position was initially done in a context that disregarded the cards that you were holding. It helped me look at position as something that could potentially be enough to win a hand regardless of cards (something I would have claimed to know prior, but wouldn't have actually put into practice).

They biggest flaw I notice among many many players is their bad play in relative position.
This is such a major concept in NL and PL
