WSOP ME registration questions

1. Will it be too late to register for the ME in person on Friday night (during Day 1a)? Pre-registration seems unreliable at this point. Plus, a friend who preregistered a month ago still hasn't heard when his start date is (although they have acknowleged receipt of payment).
2. Will the Rio accept a cashier's check or traveler's checks or do I need to travel with cash?

I'm curious about this as well. What are our options for paying a registration fee [for any WSOP] event in person? Are debit cards legitimate options?
