Default Flop combo

No Limit Hold'em Ring Game (6 max) , 6 players
Blinds : $0.50/$1

Stacks:
UTG : $142.90
MP : $86.15
CO : $49.45
Button : $98.50 (Hero)
SB : $142.75
BB : $150

UTG limps, MP limps, CO folds, Hero raises to $5.50, UTG folds, 2 folds, MP calls.

Flop: 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] ($13.50, 2 players)
MP checks, Hero bets $10, MP raises to $30, Hero ???

Do you ever just check this behind?

Villain was like 50% preflop and seemed loose-passive, which is scary, but then he also spewed in the last hand and maybe is tilting now so I'm confused.

I think raising small pocket pairs like this in general is a bad idea preflop. Could someone explain the merit of it to me I'm confused...you wanna see flops cheaply with them to try to bust aa/kk who cant get away from their hand, but whats your ideal situation against a limper's huge range?
I'm just looking for an explanation....anyway I usually bet this flop and call the turn. Just like you played it.

We want hands to call us that we aren't ahead of....we have an open ended straight draw

Nah, like I said he seemed loose-passive calling stationy from stats & the few hands I saw, but then the hand right before this he kinda went nuts, I'll see if I can find it...

No Limit Hold'em Ring Game (6 max) , 6 players
Blinds : $0.50/$1

Stacks:
UTG : $122.75
MP : $146.40
CO : $111.15
Button : $49.45
SB : $99 (Hero)
BB : $143.75

Pre-flop: (6 players) Hero is SB with 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]
UTG raises to $3.50, MP calls, CO calls, 3 folds.

Flop: Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] ($12, 3 players)
UTG bets $6.50, MP folds, CO calls.

Turn: Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] ($25, 2 players)
UTG checks, CO bets $15, UTG calls.

River: 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] ($55, 2 players)
UTG checks, CO checks.

Results: (final pot $55)
UTG wins $52.25 (+$27.25) with T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (Two Pair)
CO shows 3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (Two Pair)

He's CO here. Other than this I'd only seen him be pretty passive.

people don't have AA/KK every hand. by raising 66 you turn your hand into a bluff that's a monster 12% of the time, and air the rest. whether this is good against this opponent maybe that's good or bad.

cbloom: looks like standard loose passive poker IMO. i think spot is really really close. i push because he'll call with some worse hands TBH (like 56). after all, we still have what, 40% equity or something if our outs are good? (i dont know exactly)

Ok, SSNL review time :

1. several limps and I'm on the button -
raise to take it down immediately preflop
raise to take it down with a cbet often
build the pot in case I do hit a set or something

2. bet on the flop -

to just take it down if he has overs, I don't want to guess at overcards on later streets

to charge worse hands like 56 or a naked 6

to avoid getting bluffed later, and to avoid paying off if he improves later

to build the pot if he does have a better hand and I hit my str8

But I could possibly see checking the flop here and then calling one bet unimproved.

I play everything the same.

On flop i call his raise and reevaluate on turn. This is going off the assumption that i get his stack if i make the straight. I don't think i'm ahead right now, and probably close to zero FE.
