Default Small stationary computers

I've been checking those small stationary computers out. I don't know the technical term for them but I'm sure you know which ones I mean. Here is a link to one. I don't know much about these types of computers, but I'd like to learn. First, what is their technical name? so I can search the internet for info.

How much more expensive are they than the standard big box computers? Are there any differences between a small box and a big box except for the specs? Is the small box quieter?

Thanks for the help!

Slim, compact, space saver, these are all names for them. They shouldn't be much of a price difference with other desktops. The down side to them is that they are much less expandable than a regular desktop, so probably not going to be dual monitoring with them. I have one at work and it is not quieter than my machine at home.

I recommend avoiding a compact tower unless you absolutely can not fit a larger box in your space. As kerowo mentioned, they are less expandable and may require "slim" cards instead of regular ones. Also, if you're looking for a quiet (fanless) computer, a compact tower is not going to be suitable due to the crowded space inside.
