Default TV Free

I quit television cold turkey near the turn of the century. No regrets, lots more time in my life (now filled with equally stupid stuff). Anyhow, my buddy plants the seed that I might just like 'The Sopranos'. Blockbuster Online makes this quite easy and, well, I'm hooked. I can see the series going down hill here in season 4 but it's still some fine entertainment and I'll certainly watch the whole thing.

It's clear that there's more that I've missed and it might be as good. So here's my request from OOT. Set me on to more quality television. If you honestly think 'The Sopranos' was first rate then tell me what you really like. Ideally, there's a couple seasons already on DVD since I will never watch anything that is on broadcast.

Thanks in advance.

Yeah, Sopranos is great...

Also a big Scrubs fan, good comedy show, DVD's are out there.

Arrested Development, also comedy, but really good, and DVD's are there.

The problem in answering this is there are dozens of really good shows available.

Like scifi? Battlestar Galalctica
Want action? Alias or 24
Want crime/cop/gangster? There's murder one, The Wire, The Sheild.

Want gritty? There's Deadwood and several others.

Want out of the ordinary? There's Carnivale, Twin peaks, American Gothic.

War? Band of Brothers

Comedy? Wow, there's a lot.

all of these shows are very good.

So, what do you want?

Thanks for the response. I recognize some and I'm a bit more critical of television than yourself, in general.

I'll give 24 a shot. Arrested development as well.
