You want to make this pot large. Bet the flop. Bet/raise turn. Fold river.

Bet the flop...Bet the turn..As played C/R more on turn...River you can fold...

You need to get more money in with your monster and stop trying to be tricky...In the long run you will win more monies!!!!!!

Thanks for your input.

Is checking flop really that bad? I was fairly sure my hand would hold up through all the streets and I was just hoping someone would have a 5 and bet strong.

It's not about your hand being protected by betting, it's about building a pot.

NOBODY IS FOLDING A 5 IF THEY HAVE IT! So just bet.

[/ QUOTE ]Most players will call with overcards. No one raised PF so it will go check-check-check a lot here without someone having a five. Don't bet a whole lot. Make it about .45 so overs can call. Then go closer to the pot on the turn especially if it's a high card. You just have to live with the times you bet out and both fold.

It's not neccesarly that bad...But where do you expect a bet to come from???? If you do check then you MUST get more money in on the turn...Betting into a paired board very few villain will give you credit for a hand since in there mind "nobody would bet trips here..They would slowplay"...Betting the flop would allow you to CR(should you choose) the turn WHEN somebody calls..

One more thing to remember...It's about making the most money off villains strong but second best hand and not about being fancy trying to extract a few extra small bets out of weak hands..
