Default M:TG Thread

Anyone here who does or has ever played Magic cards should check this out. If you do play or have ever played Magic The Gathering and don't know about Apprentice or Magic Workstation or how widely used they are, they're great.

Free online Magic with access to all the cards. I'm addicted.

http://www.magic-league.com/download/apprentice.php

Finally I was able to make that deck of 20 Black Lotuses and 20 Plague rats.

I recommend Magic Workstation because it has more features and it offers the illustrations for the cards (although the picture pack is a massive torrent that took me days due to seeders). Also, MWS has host servers which let you pick random opponents from the internet (usually tons on)

If this interests you and you get Apprentice, you'll have to pick up games from the chatroom from the site that links the downloads. The chatroom also has judges that answer all questions to current rulings and stuff like that.

WOTC's official site for searching up cards. Extremely helpful for deckbuilding.

Current type 2 deck I've been testing online:

This thing runs great. I'm gonna wait for 10th Edition to come out and see if the Ravnica dual lands are reprinted before I drop the cash on the Ravnica cards, but this deck is pretty powerful if you like speed and land destruction.

Creatures:

Red:
3x Akroma, Angel of Fury
3x Desolation Giant
4x Avalanche Riders
3x Keldon Marauders

White:
4x Mangara of Corondor
2x Stonecloaker

Spells:

Red:
4x Boom/Bust
4x Stone Rain

White:
4x Momentary Blink
3x Resurrection

Artifact:
4x Prismatic Lens

Lands:
4x Flagstones of Trokair
4x Sacred Foundry
3x Terramorphic Expanse
6x Mountain
5x Plains

Total Deck cost: $148.00 + S&H from Troll and Toad

Stormbind was the most underrated card of its era.

I played on workstation a lot when I played. It was a good way to playtest decks. I like the automated shuffling too. I haven't seen the new Apprentice yet, so I may check it out. Anyone for a M:tG tournament? Type 1 rules?

I went infinite for a while drafting Onslaught. MODO is fun, but the ability to play Type1 and stuff is pretty cool IMO.
