POG Championship round 5 - Sheep (this is the game thread)

The final competition will be sheep. So far we have 3 handed pick-a-number, in/out, beauty contest and pog auction. All are in various stages.

This sheep I personally will answer each question. I will answer opinion questions honestly and others with whatever pops into my head. I count as a regular person but can't win of course.

When you send the PM please just put the answer to each question on each line like this:
answer 1
answer 2

in other words don't put the question or whatever. It's much easier to score them this way.

History:
1. Name an empire other than the Roman, Holy Roman, and Ottoman.
2. Name a philosopher of the Enlightenment.
3. Name a slave owner.
4. Name a dictator.

Geography
5. Name a Spanish city other than Sevilla, Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, and Granada.
6. Name a country that is in Europe but is NOT in the European Union.
7. Name a city in South America.
8. Name a Southeast Asian country other than Thailand and Vietnam.

Literature:
9. Name an Orwell book other than 1984.
10. Name a playwright other than Shakespeare.
11. Name a poet who writes in English.
12. Name a Spanish language author, poet or playwright other than Cervantes, Lope de Vega, Garcia Lorca, and Pablo Neruda.

Art:
13. Name a piece of art.
14. Name an art movement.
15. Name a painter from the US
16. Name a sculptor.

I'll go for in between scoring. For all questions you get a point for every person giving the answer and a two point bonus if you gave the most common answer.

All answers must be submitted by Friday at 6 PM.

I may have accidentally given away what I put on question 4 on pogchat, but if we all pretend it didnt happen then it wont matter.

ok- I like my answers some of these seem incredibly easy but we'll see

Yes, at least five of these that I think are really obvious runaways, and at least three more with only two serious contenders.

Hope I got those big ones right - it'll be impossible to catch up from the low-scoring questions.

I am hopeful that, since I could only think of one answer each to the two spanish questions, other people will think of the same one answer [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]

On the down side, however, if the question had merely said "other than Cervantes", I wouldn't have come up with any of the OTHER excluded names, either.

I've never heard of de Vega, but Lorca was a playwright and Neruda a poet.
