Default So I think I\'m repping a set well.. [100nl]

Villain and I have barely any history together, just some 3-bets and folds. I decided T8s was the time to make a stand LDO. What's my line here? Should I shove the flop or should I try and act strong and shove turn like this? What kind of villain tendencies should influence my decision?

Full Tilt Poker - No Limit Hold'em Cash Game - $0.50/$1 Blinds - 6 Players - (LegoPoker HH Converter)

SB: $102.40
BB: $39.05
UTG: $81.30
Hero (MP): $104.15
CO: $70.20
BTN: $97.50

1. wouldn't you shove this flop with a set or two pair? it's wetter than the atlantic. seems like a villain like this would go through this reasoning.

2. the villain is getting major pot odds; i don't think he's folding much after he bets the turn.

there are a few reasons why you dont have a set here:

-its a rr-ed pot. and noone folds an overpair in a rr-ed pot.

-the board is drawy (so you would typically shove this flop).

-so, i think your play is fine, but i would shove the flop, not the turn. also, look at the money he has to put in/stack size to pot size. he's not folding the turn.

No fold equity left on turn. Should have shoved flop.

ugh, rr pot, he ain't folding hardly ever.

Normal PFR'd pot, this has merit against a thinking player.

Yea, basically everything they've said above. Hard to rep a set because (at least most people) would shove this flop with a set to balance out their range when shoving drawy flops like this. If you call 2p/sets and shove draws on a board like this it's not too good for your overall range.

Also taking a stand here would mean you should definitely, definitely shove the flop.

As played, raise the flop.

Also: don't call preflop. He isn't reraising light against a MP raiser. You're not deep enough for this stuff.

Do you call preflop 3bets with small pocket pairs and 100BB stacks? If so you should probably stop.

Also fold suited connectors preflop.

So what line do you draw with pocket pairs to call with? I call sometimes and fold sometimes.. usually random.

dbitel made a good thread about this a while ago, the conclusion was that you need at least something like 17 or 18 to 1 against an average villain (common sense dictates that if you know the villain has AA or something, things change).

that doesn't mean you can never call, but if you're just dumping it on the flop every time you miss, that's way -ev.
