$6.50 AQ on bubble vs short stack shove and call
No converter wanted to work. Big stack seemed OK, caller not so, seemed a bit weak. This is probably an automatic fold, but was unsure at the time and made what should be the worst choice I could make. Opinions?
Seat 4: UTG (865) Seat 6: Button (3,865) Seat 7: Hero (2,380) Seat 8: BB (6,390) Hero posts the small blind of 250 BB posts the big blind of 500 The button is in seat #6 *** HOLE CARDS *** Dealt to Hero [Qs Ad] UTG raises to 865, and is all in Button calls 865 Hero? |

I'd just call (and of course call if the bb pushes). You are sorta short yourself and I don't mind everyone seeing the flop.

calling, yuck !
Why would you ever want to give BB the feeling he can push over you (I would with a wide range, cuz there would be lots of dead money in the pot)? Only reason for calling here would be if BB was tight/passive and you knew for sure that he only pushes JJ+,AK over your call. |

Re: $6.50 AQ on bubble vs short stack shove and call
holy is right, it's way too timid to call here..
shoving is the best with >1/3 of the pot being dead money very often it just kinda sux if shortie wins and we become the new shortie, but oh well |

You are really just trying to lock up 3rd place and then trying to improve once you are ITM. So getting others to see the flop is a good thing for you. Are you really that worried about the shortstack winning and then the bigstack still beating you? |
