$6.50 Stars AKs EP multiway with nut flush draw
Second hand of tourney...do we raise more pf? I think I'm betting the flop for value with 4 players in...stupid? On turn, hoping the 2nd q makes it less likely that villian has one...real stupid?? Just think I got this hand all wrong.

Re: $6.50 Stars AKs EP multiway with nut flush draw
If villian only paired the Queen then you're in a flip here with the over cards and nut FD. Even if he has KQ it's still 45/55.
I'm guessing you have no reads. If villain is aggro you could consider a c/r. Also, if you're going to bet the flop for value then you should be making a larger bet than 120. Closer to 200-225 I think. To be honest, I'm not too sure what the best play is after the flop but I'd probably just check the turn hoping for a free river. I'd fold to the river bet. That doesn't sound like a good way to play it but again, I'm not sure what to do after the flop other than c/f. |

Re: $6.50 Stars AKs EP multiway with nut flush draw
I actually really like a check (3x) raise line here on the flop and then shoving the turn (if you miss).
As played I think you need to bet a good deal more on the flop. Its a continuation bet as well as a semi bluff. You do not have the best hand here so you shouldn't be betting as though you do/for value, I would want to take this pot down on the flop. Pot is 340 on the flop I bet 260 I think. I check the river and if he bets depending on the size I don't mind shoving but may be better to just call. |

In limit, you bet here because you might win it now, you might suck out, or you might win with a turn bet (classic semi-bluff). But I just don't think this works here, especially at the $6.50's. Here a lot of times they'll call if they got any piece of the flop at all, so you're not taking it down that much, which kills a lot of what a semi-bluff is good for. I played limit for so long that some of that stuff is just lodged in my brain. |
