Default When to 3-bet and when to just call???

Under what circumstances is it more profitable to 3-bet someone as opposed to flat calling their bet??? The question includes both in position and out of position....
Possible scenarios....

1. KQs in BB, 32/24 raises from button, what's our move...
2. JTs in SB, 18/12 raises from CO.....
3. 78s in BB, 24/17 raises from button.....
4. KJs on button, 32/24 raises from CO.....
5. 88 on button, 32/24 raises from CO.....
6. AQs on CO, 18/12 raises from UTG.....
7. 99 on BB, 24/17 raises from button....

FYI, you are 19/15, its 6-max, and everyone else has folded.....

I remember reading somewhere that you shouldn't cold call and always 3 bet in most situations. I would probably 3 bet all those except for number 6. I would just call. But I'm a begginer. This is just imo.

This is how I would play it, but I'm not very good, so maybe you shouldn't listen to me.

1. Reraise, you're way ahead of his range.
2. I don't think this one matters much. You could reraise to isolate and take charge of the hand (most 18/12s at 6-max are weak-tight). You could also call to invite BB into the hand since JTs is an excellent multiway hand.
3. Read-dependent, but usually I'm calling because I lack strength.
4. Reraise, classic isolation situation, plus it's probably for value.
5. Reraise, ditto.
6. Reraise, even though I hate the spot we're in. The problem with calling is that you give away too much information. If you call with this hand here, you have to start calling with lots of other hands, and I don't think that's very good. But I don't really like reraising--we're probably behind, and in some cases way behind. But we're suited, so we have too much hand to fold.
7. Reraise. This is probably a steal, and we have a lot of strength.

[/ QUOTE ]The "don't cold call" advice is for limit. I don't know whether we are talking about NL or limit here.

I assumed it was limit, otherwise there should have been something about the size of the raise in the examples.
