99 NL $100 against Donk
No prior stats on Villain. My initial read is that he seems donkish. Just sat down a few orbitals ago, and have seem him limp/call raises several times. Seems to like to limp in early position and all over the table for that matter. Effective stacks of $137.50 (Hero) and $126.13 (Villain). The game is $.50/$1 (100 max) on Bodog.
Hero is dealt 99 on the button Preflop Villain raises to $3 from the CO Hero raises to $14.50 from the button Villain Calls Hero and Villain see flop Pot size is now (27.50) Flop comes 8J10 rainbow Villain checks Hero bets $24.50 Villain min raises my bet to ($50.25) Thoughts??? Any input would be great. Is this an easy shove? How do I interpret his raise? What do u feel like villain's range is here? FYI, I was berated for my play, after the hand. Results in white Hero raises to $74.50 Villain calls and is All-in for $63.38 Hero Shows 99 Villain Shows Q10 Turn and River brings 5clubs and 8diamonds Villain scoops pot of $251.26 |

Re: 99 NL $100 against Donk
If he limps all the time, perhaps his raise means he has a decent hand. I think preflop just calling in position with 99 is okay. Raising is okay too - but if I raise I'm going to play cautiously if he calls my raise (since we'll be playing a huge pot and 99 is a tricky one to play for stacks postflop with unimproved).
So, you reraise preflop - that's cool - and the flop brings you an OESD. This guy limp/calls preflop a lot, which probably means he doesn't like to fold. If you bet this flop, you're going to get called by any piece of the board, any draw, maybe even whiffed overs - but this flop figures to have helped him somehow. Just take the free card on the flop, and see what the turn brings and if he leads. |
