Default nl50 AQo

Villan is 48/15/1.42 (not very large sample, but adequate)

Hero is 20/16/2

Can I squeeze any more value out of this? I was a little worried that he caught two pair or somethin on me, so i was weak on the river.. but the river is a bad place to get greedy..

What do you guys think?

I thought this might be worth a valuebet but apparently not:

a calling range for a river bet of $15 might be:

{A9, AhXh, AJ?, A6?, J9, 96, 77, 88, TT, AK, AT, A8, A7, KK, AA}

board: 8dTs7d
Hand Pot
AhQs 21.87%
A9,Ah*h,AJ,J9,96,77,88,TT,AK,AT,A8 78.13%

what exactly does that 78% mean, in relation to value betting this river?

78% chance i'm beat if he calls the river bet?

this guy is really loose, so its hard to put him on a hand preflop. can have any Ax, Kx suited, medium pair, SC's. Looks like he was drawing to some kind of a str8 with connectors, maybe combo draw, like a pair and str8 draw. or maybe A9.
there is only two villain hands that I can think of that you beat but will pay you off in the end. AJ and A9. all the other hands that you beat, will fold to a river value bet.

I like it how played. Bet sizing should be pot-sized to cover for draws out there. Checking behind on the river is fine in my opinion, as a value bet will probable be called or raised only by hands that have you beat. Furthermore, you avoid check-raising by a made or slow-played hand.

yes, according to the range i gave. you'd need at least 50% equity to bet the river for value (in fact slightly more because you open yourself to being raised if you bet).

His hand really looks like a busted draw or a very lucky QJ. Most sets and straights are raising us somewhere in this hand prior to the river. Sure, he may have hit the A with an AdXd or A9, AJ and pay us off, but I really hate it when we get checkraised on the river because we are beat always. You'd also have a hard time folding to the c/r given the pot odds. Add all this up and I don't mind the river check behind.

I do think you need to discount some of the sets, straights, and two pair hands somewhat because he is going to go for a checkraise before the river almost always with those hands.
