Default Motor City (Detroit update) and a new game

Today they started a new game; $10-20NL w/ a $500 min. buyin. They even had signs made up, so they're planning on spreading it regularly. I'm not sure what the time charge is, but I'm guessing it may be $10/half. It was full all day and when I left. In fact they almost started a second one around 7:30pm. I'm not sure how long it will last. It's the same group that plays the $5-10NL, but these guys all have loads of cash. Greektown used to have a $10-25NL game on Fridays, but that finally died out perhaps after a year.

I left around 1:30am today. They had 5 of the $50-$200 ($1/2nl) games going all night and 2 of the $200-$500 ($2/5). One of the $200-$500 games finally broke around 11:00 or so. The $10-$20 appeared to break around midnight

Thanks for the info. If you play there, do you know if, upon use of an "e-table" (electronic poker table), you must insert a (casino) player's card, before you can play?

Motor City has electronic poker tables now? Can anyone confirm? Are they SNGs? What's the buy in?

it's a special card specifically for the etables. u load it at the desk with cash and when you are done, can cash out right there as well.

Two days ago they tried running a $50-200 game and it went off short handed. They also had a list for it yesterday. I've heard from 2 dealers that if you win over $1200 that you have to pay taxes on the money immediately since it's aparantly considered a slot machine.

They usually have $3-6 going on at least one of them and the other one is used for anything from sit and go's to $50-200

<tear> I was thinking of going to play 10/20 late tonight. Arriving around 12:45am. Guess I will be calling ahead to see if there is a 10/20.

And that big NL game would be fun to watch while waiting for my seat.

ACSlater: what is up with you these days? Join a gang or something?

that is so comical. i saw a few dealers that were so paranoid over these 2 etables. the one loud mouth dealer was trying to scare people using idiotic logic on how the rake adds up so much faster so everyone will be going broke that much faster. i guess he didn't take into account that the rake at the etable is the same as the table he is dealing at and we don't have to tip anyone. anyhow, i just called to double check the tax/1099 issue and just as i guessed, its all hogwash. they play the same as the other tables. how pathetic are these dealers that are saying these things?

Interesting. Who did you talk to?

Off the topic, these 2 tables do have their own separate bad beat.
