Shawn Shiekhan: Good, Bad, and Ugly?

So, in the spirit of my previous Hellmuth question, here's another: what do ya think of shieky? I, personally can't stand the man. I thnk he's got no skills, no (decent) personality, and no good comebacks when one of his opponents talks some well-deserved smack. Thoughts?

Agreed with everything you said, he no where near the level of the players he's on TV with.

However, I've heard that he's actually a really "swell" guy, and just does that act for the cameras. (I believe Daniel Negreanu said this in his blog)

Remember he's not a Hold'em player apparently either? I could be wrong, but I heard his best game is 7 card Stud? And he was talking about Badugi the other day, how everyone he plays is really bad at that game. Just because we only see them play NLHE doesn't mean they are necessarily bad Poker Players...

Unfortunately an environment has evolved where, for many players, acting like a jerk is by far their best chance of getting TV exposure (see also: Humberto)

In the spirit of (and connected with) your previous Hellmuth question, I would like to see both Shieky and Phil take their acts on the road (perhaps as Oscar and Felix in yet another Odd Couple revival). On the other hand, if they go on the road, we might actually miss Shieky taunting Phil, Phil running to Maury, Annie rolling her eyes and Steve Z calling the play-by-play. I find sheiky to be a fat pig. ever since his and mikes blowup in the WSOP (the first time i ever saw sheiky) i've thought he was a classless wanker.
I havn't seen much of his game, but from what i have seen nothing really impressed me too much.

I used to hate him, but he is just messin' around and really is a funny guy.

Only thing I don't like is that he killed an old women. Besides that, he is aright.

Everytime this comes up someone says that Sheiky is just putting on an act for the cameras. That is just not true. He is a d-bag 24/7. He yells at players, dealers, floor staff, everyone all the time, always. It may be an act insomuch as it is his masking some sort of insecurity by playing the dick, but he does it whether the cameras are there or not -- thus making him a miserable human being.
