I feel I played it too passive. Bet the turn for like 300? As played, bet the river for 240? |

bet turn 200-250, check river, he will bet as he has the 5, call it down.

Re: ($12) Flopped trips. Extracting maximum value
I lead flop for 100, push to a raise.
The whole thing with this "extracting maximum value" and "playing tricky" is that the other guy isn't going to be calling your bets (if you had made any) with nothing. Meaning, either he's on a draw or thinks his hand is good, in which case you should just bet straight out at him, or he doesn't have anything, and if you "play it tricky" you might just get one stab/bluff from him. I like betting out much much better, especially b/c it conceals the strength of your hand better on that flop. |

Re: ($12) Flopped trips. Extracting maximum value
I also like betting out, to prevent any draws and extract value (if he folds here he likely folds on the other streets as well). Plus slow-playing when you hit makes your c-bets less credible (at $16 this is only slightly relevant, but it's still bad practice imo). I only like slow-playing the nuts, or when I have a decent read on my villain.

I just push this preflop. It should be unexploitable.
