villain is very aggressive and pots 90% of the flops if checked to, he also calls a lot and tries to take the pot away from you later. I bet/called him down pretty lightly and won 2 50$ pots with just top pair and weak two pair calling his float/bluffs on the river but recently lost a lot of smaller pots folding to his aggression on the flop not getting any hands.

yeah, i did value bet top pair over two streets before, but in this case i thought it was good to check to let him make his usual bet because i sometimes want to have a hand if i check it to him. i eventually stacked off in this hand to his better flush and i was wondering if i had to stack off here or if there was any way to get away from this.

you are probably right, just the way i played the later streets of this hand was pretty embarrassing. i made a tiny turn lead, got raised, called and check called all in on the river, somehow hated it.
how good of a flush would you need here to make stacking off marginal? |
