Blinds are up there and my stack is decent, no read on villian. Is this a push?

If he's a tighty fold....if he's anything else, shove. Usually this is a shove, but the read that you don't have could change that.

Hi sluggger5x,
Pushing is certainly not an egregious play, but I would normally fold here. A player min-raising during high blind play under-the-gun may have a monster hand, but even if he is on a stone bluff, there are still 5 active players left to act after you. You have a pretty decent stack, and assuming you believe your opponents inferior, I would not risk your excellent chip position (i.e., large amount of SNG equity) to add around 750 to your stack by shoving well over 10 BB early to act here. Since a smaller raise is pot-committing, and calling 480 invites difficult future decision-making, I would suggest folding here by process of elimination. Best Regards, Collin |
