Best MP3 Player?
Title pretty much sums it up. What is the best MP3 portable MP3 out there? There has to be something out there that competes, or maybe out performs IPod's. I'm looking in the range of around $2-300. Any thoughts/ideas?

why don't you want an Ipod? [/ QUOTE ] That's why I asked the question. Everyone just automatically say's Ipod's are the best and I have no experience/knowledge to base it on. I'm leaning toward the Ipod video, but I only need it for music so I'll probably go the Nano route. Just wondering if anyone thinks there is something out there besides the Ipod's. |

[/ QUOTE ] i got an iPod and i don't like it. the wheel makes it easy to accidentally change the volume while it's in your pocket, or while you're trying to click the buttons that are on the wheel. turning on the "hold" button makes it impossible to change the song OR the volume, which is supuer irritating as of course different songs require different volume settings. there is no off button which irritates me because i want to be able to turn the damn thing OFF manually. the headphones of course are horrible, just evil, like a cruel joke. also the whole thing just feels slippery, like it's gona slip out of my hand and fall to the floor any moment. i am sure i'm in the minority but there you have it. i will not buy Apple again for MP3 players. i have heard good things about iRiver players from a couple gadget-freak friends, you might want to check those out. |

Re: Best MP3 Player?
I have a Creative Media: Zen Xtra. They come in 20, 30, and 40 gigs, maybe smaller as well. I love it. Never been a fan of anything macintosh makes (just a personal thing). But I have well over 500 albums worth of stuff on my Zen xtra (it's the 30 gig version) and still have about ten gigs open.
The best thing for me is it allows you to save things on it in formats other then MP3. Allowing you to condense a little more (with no noticable decline in sound quality) and thereby fit more on it. But that's just my 2 cents. |
