Default National Heads-Up Poker Championship

It is generally assumed that TV poker in no was resembles "real" poker. However, it seems to me that this series might offer someone interested in NL HU SnGs real insight into the game.

Has watching these DVDs helped any of you guys with your HU NL or HU SnGs?

When they show full matches they are pretty interesting IMO, a lot pros play terrible HU though which is funny to watch.

I've been watching this series on TV (actually downloading rips of them, but same thing), and have been enjoying it, but it's hard to say how much you can really learn when you're only seeing one or two hands out of an entire match.

Do the DVDs show entire matches, every hand? *That* would be very interesting, but without seeing more than a couple hands, there's not really any sort of information to be gleaned.

QFT.

Some play has been terrible. The lack of play was even worse.

I think it gets better later when there are only a few matches to show each round.

the first couple rounds are worthless if you're looking for strategy. most of the "pros" make big mistakes frequently and the announcers tend to give bad advice. i haven't seen the later episodes of this years tourney so i can't comment on those.

I would be interested to hear an example of bad advice given by the announcers.

lol... like all of it.

It'd be easier to find the few times where they give solid advice.

I dont think I'm asking for much. Just one example of something that is considered "bad advice." Support of a statement like those above doesnt seem to be that irrational of a request.

You're asking us to YouTube stuff (while at work for me) just to point at that the sky is blue.
